Cristie Boff was born in 1976 in Porto Alegre, capital of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. She approached the world of painting in 1997, when she attended a course in drawing and painting at the Italian Academy in Florence. From here begins her path and her artistic evolution, dotted with various experiences. After an experience in Brazil where she learned the basics for oil painting, in 1999 she returned to Italy to attend a jewelry course at the Accademia Riaci, in Florence. Fascinated by the course she decided to continue and attended a contemporary jewelry course at Alchimia School, in Florence in 2000, then in Brazil in 2008, until she graduated from the ‘’Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze’’ in 2015 in Italy.
Cristie’s work consists in painting on cotton canvas that she personally prepares using a particular technique and above all an unusual material that’s rabbit glue. When a painting is treated like this, small imperfections will appear at the time of painting, which will represent the signs that time leaves along the flow of the life of each of us.
Color, timeline and signs left by time: these are the fundamental characteristics present in every abstract landscape that Cristie paints. The concept of time that the artist offers us through her paintings is always a different flow but at the same time we perceive a continuity represented by the timeline, where the various transformations of life take place. Everything changes along the timeline: it changes our body, the people around us change, the colors change our lives.
